Am I saved? That’s a question so many people wrestle with. And the way you live and think can be an indicator of whether or not the Holy Spirit dwells within you. Living in the Spirit has certain rewards. But living in the flesh has inevitable consequences. In Romans 8 we are challenged to “Get busy living or get busy dying.”

How you think makes a difference. It is an outflow of walking in the flesh or walking in the Spirit. Do you find yourself in desire fulfillment mode? The law can define righteousness. The law can demand righteousness. But the law cannot deliver change because the law isn’t the problem – we are. As John 3:16 is to the lost, so is Romans 8 to the child of God. It reveals that victory is possible at greater depths than mere behavior, for God has made a way for change of the heart and mind.
